Born in the basement of a Buick garage in Stoughton, Wisconsin as Nelson Muffler in 1939, we quickly established ourselves as one of the United States’ leading providers of mufflers and exhaust components.
After becoming one of the government’s most trusted suppliers during World War II, Nelson grew rapidly, expanding across the country and eventually internationally, starting with facilities in Australia and India in 1999.
Today, with eight facilities in North America and ten more across Asia, Oceania, and South America, we are confident in our status as a global partner to move companies forward. We provide clients across essential industries with innovative engineering and critical manufacturing flexibility, which we achieve by executing lean principles and empowering our employees. From our expertise in mufflers and exhaust systems to our leadership in cutting-edge alternative power technology, we remain primed for whatever comes next.
